How do I post an ad?
- Go to the Trading Post page and review the existing ads to see if you need to post your ad. If someone is already offering what you need or looking for what you have, you may wish to contact them first.
- Click on the "Post new ad" link at the top of the ad listings
- Select "Wanted", "For Sale", "Trade", or "Give Away". If your ad does not fit any of these categories, select "n/a"
- Enter your ad text. Avoid using too many capital letters; on the internet this is known as "shouting" and is considered rude. Also be aware of internet safety - please review our Internet Safety suggestions below.
- Select a category. This helps readers to find your ad if they are looking for a specific item.
- Include some contact information. Fill in the appropriate boxes for name, email, phone number. Your town or community helps readers to know how far they may have to go to view or pick up an item; if you live on a farm or acreage, give the closest town or community center.
- Enter a password - required so that you can edit or delete your ad later
- Click on "Preview" to see what your ad will look like. Think about how someone else might read it.
- When you are ready to post your ad, click on "Save".
How often can I post?
- You can post as many ads as you need. Each ad will run for 1 week. Do not re-post the same information more often than that - it will be removed. To update your information, use the edit feature.
How do I edit my ad?
- Find your ad on the Trading Post page.
- Click on the "Edit" link at the bottom of your ad
- Make whatever changes are necessary
- Enter the password you used when you first created your ad
- If you want to see what your ad will look like, click on "Preview"
- Click on "Save" to update your ad
- Please use this feature if you sell your item so that people know not to call you any longer.
How do I delete my ad?
- Find your ad on the Trading Post page
- Click on the "Edit" link at the bottom of your ad
- Enter the password you used when you first created your ad
- Click on "Delete" to delete your ad
- Click OK when asked "Delete this ad?"
Why did my ad disappear?
- Ads are automatically deleted after 1 week
- Your ad was similar or identical to one you had already posted within the last week
- Your ad contained inappropriate content
